How To Use CommentLuv Premium WordPress Plugin For Free?

CommentLuv premium is a well known WordPress plugin to enable for the comment section of a blog. It is created by Andy Bailey.
Most of you think that I am going to provide you CommentLuv premium WordPress plugin for free or there is any download link for it but you are wrong.
I am just going to tell you that you can use the features of this plugin free of cost using some other WordPress plugins. Before the description how to use CommentLuv premium for free, I must tell you about this plugin.
What Is CommentLuv Premium?
CommentLuv is the plugin available in two versions, one is a free version and another is paid version. CommentLuv premium is the plugin which is not present in the plugins directory of WordPress.
As its name signifies that it is a premium plugin which we have to buy If we want to use it on our blog. It costs 67$ for a single site and 97$ for multiple sites with an unlimited license. CommentLuv premium is the plugin used for the comment section of our blog.
It has the power to attract many commentators to our blog due to its main feature of linking. When any commentator put his/her input to any Commentluv enabled blog then the plugin will provide the link to the last post written by the commentator.
- There are many options by which we can control to whom we want to provide the backlink from our blog or to whom we don’t want. It’s the combination of eight plugins which has an amazing power to control the spam comments by spam bots. It has GASP – a WordPress plugin which adds an extra box to tick by the commentators while commenting on the blog. Spam bots can’t pass this test and we can remain safe from spam comments.
- The plugin has the options by which we can provide the space to drop the Twitter link of the commentators in the comment section by which the author can easily connect with them if he/she wants. There are some other social buttons of Facebook and Google+ by which our blog post can go viral.
- With the use of CommentLuv premium, WordPress plugin commentators are provided with the facility to use keywords in the comments. They can use keywords in their names. CommentLuv users have an opportunity to show their loyal commentators on their blog with the help of a widget which can be placed in the sidebar widget.
- There is an another amazing feature of this plugin by which we can check the stats of our links from where they are clicked the most. Like other the plugins, we can update the plugin with one single click when a new update is available.
- I must tell you that customers can allow receive notifications to get replies to their comment via e-mail.
Use CommentLuv Premium For Free By Installing These Plugins
Now I am going to tell you how to use CommentLuv premium for free? I have already explained about this plugin and you are thinking how can we use the same features for free?
As I have mentioned above that I am not going to share any download link. I am here just to tell that we can use the same features of CommmentLuv premium with the use of some free WordPress plugins.
- CommentLuv :- The main plugin we have to use the free version of CommentLuv plugin. Install this plugin to your WordPress site and the CommentLuv enabled sign comes in your comment section. This plugin also has the capacity to give the validation for the last post written by the commentator.
- GASP :- You have read the description of the plugin that it fights with spam bots and save us from spam comments. This feature can be enjoyed by installing a simple free WordPress plugin named GASP – Growmap Anti-Spambot Plugin. You may have noticed in above that with the use of this plugin we can add a checkbox which asks the customer to confirm that he/she is not a spammer.
- Twitter Link Comments :- Now it’s time to install Twitter Link Comments plugin by which we can add a Twitter link box where readers can add their Twitter handle. It will look so similar to the feature provided by CommentLuv premium. The author or other visitors can easily connect with the commentators at Twitter.
- KeywordLuv :- For the availability of using the keywords in the comments we must use KeywordLuv – a free WordPress plugin which allows people to use keywords even in their name.
- Subscribe To Comments Reloaded :- CommentLuv provides an another feature by which visitors are provided with the checkbox to get the replies to their comment by e-mail. We can use Subscribe To Comments Reloaded for this feature to get enabled at our blog. Customers can subscribe to the notifications to their replies and can easily unsubscribe to it when they feel it frustrating of receiving e-mails.
With the use of these WordPress plugins, we can enjoy the same features like CommentLuv premium. These WordPress plugins are free of cost and we can get them from the WordPress plugins directory.
You Want To Use CommentLuv Premium WordPress Plugin For Free Or Not?
Now it’s up to you whether you want to use CommentLuv premium for free or not? Can you afford to this paid plugin even after you know that you can use its features for free? There is no doubt that the plugin has amazing features but it’s not affordable for everyone.
Especially for beginners, this plugin can’t be bought. So for newbies and others who can’t buy CommentLuv premium plugin can enjoy its features by installing some free plugins mentioned above.

Very helpful. I contribute to others’ sites as well as my own. I do have some of the free plugins you mentioned, but I’m going to try the GASP plugin too. I hadn’t had that one installed, and it looks to be very helpful in preventing spam comments while not discouraging real people from making comments. Thanks!

I use Comment Luv Premium and prior to using it had comment Luv and all of the other plugins except Subscribe to comments reload.
I thought there was more to the difference than just these plugins being incorporated but I am not a techie.

With the use of these free plugins I have discussed in the post people can enjoy similar features like CommentLuv premium but as we all know we can’t defeat original product.

Yes, CommentLuv is a wonderful plugin and I’ve been using the paid version ever since I switched over to WordPress two years back. I think it does wonders, especially for new bloggers and otherwise too for various reasons – the best ones you mentioned above. However, I am on a trail presently and testing a few other plugins for comments to see how it goes. I guess if you have a loyal readership and have built a community, which happens only after a while, you don’t need to depend on CommentLuv for comments, isn’t it? Nevertheless, nothing like it.

Well you have it partially right my friend but not all.
One of the reasons that Andy created the premium version was so that you didn’t have to have all these separate plugins on your blog but instead they would be incorporate into one. BUT, you left some out that the premium version has that the free one doesn’t.
You have the choice of making your blog a dofollow or not plus giving the link love of a dofollow link to your commenters. The free version doesn’t have this option.
TrackBack validation is also included which means you can see who is pinging you.
No self ping is also included which means you don’t need a separate plugin for this either. It prevents Google from constantly pinging your site every time you make an update.
Top CommentLuvv widget is also a part of the premium version and this lets you see who has left the most comments and gives you the most love.
The Anti Backlinker is the latest addition and it really helps you have much more control over spam comment. I’ve completely stopped ALL spam due to the way I have this one set it.
So if you’d like to have the functions of the premium version you can add all these plugins separately but then again, some of them aren’t available and you’ll have to find another solution.
The premium version also allows you to chose from not just 10 of your latest posts but also five posts or pages of your choice. You can also create a mini bio so that people can view that from the comment section as well.
Hope that helps at least explain the other missing ingredients that you left out!

I agree with your points.
But as I have mentioned in the post that there are many people who can’t afford CommentLuv premium so for them simple way to get some benefits is to use all free plugins which can provide them some value added service.
No doubt that these free plugins can’t have all the features which are included in the premium version of CommentLuv.
For beginners the use of free plugins is the only option if they want to enable their blog with CommentLuv commenting system.
I hope it would be better option for them to use these plugins if they can’t afford one premium plugin.

Wanted to stop back by to see if you had responded.
I totally understand that for those that don’t want to spend the money that this would be the free route but you only put part of what the premium version offers so you really aren’t getting it for free by adding all these other plugins. You may be getting some of them but that was my point.
The title is misleading because you’ll never be able to install plugins to match what the paid version gets but you were right is naming some of the benefits. I just wanted to be sure and mention them all.

I totally agree with you that we can’t get the benefits from other free plugins which are provided by premium version of CommentLuv.
But I don’t think I need to make you understand that newbies can afford this premium plugin as I have mentioned before and for them the only option is to find an alternative to have some features like CommentLuv premium.
With the use of other plugins beginners can’t have that much spam control but while building a website bloggers learn about all these stuffs and try to drive some traffic to their blog using free version of CommentLuv and some other plugins which are included in premium version.

In the beginning of my blogging, I’ve used the FREE CommentLuv but now I do have the unlimited use of CommentLuv Premium, meaning I can put this to as many domain as I would want to. I’m a great supporter of Andy Bailey and I love his plugin.
Ever since I’ve installed the GASP and Anti-Backlinker I have ZERO SPAM. I mean Z-E-R-O. Not even Akismet can beat that. Coz on Akismet I still get spam but on CommentLuv Premium, I get ZERO!!

GASP provide us the confirmation factor and Akismet sometimes put some real comments into spam comments.

Having a Comment LuV plugin is a good choice Ravi. Most of the bloggers use it now. But yes, most of the bloggers stopped using it too. The reason can be many but the one who stopped using it are directed to alternatives and some stopped having comments on their websites as well. You offered a magical solution to use premium plugin without paying a dime. You are right CommentLuv plugin has several awesome features but beginners can’t afford its priced version.
Another way out is to use free version initially and when a beginner establishes his blog and get a little readers engagement he can go for the premium option.
But you ended the debate to use free or premium plugin by giving a solution that enables bloggers to use premium version completely free by installing a few free plugins to get extra support.
But the question is CommentLuv manufacturer is not aware of this trick which can deprive him of selling his premium product on price and to just watch people using it free with this technique. There must be something behind it that is why its company is not in panic and quite confident of the real value of its premium product.

I think there are some reasons why the developers of the plugin don’t need to worry about people using free solutions.
First of all, even with the installation of several free plugins one won’t be able to have the full functionality of all the additional features the CommentLuv premium plugin offers, as Adrienne also points out in her comment above.
Second, and I think this is even more important, is the access to the support team in case you are facing any technical difficulties. Also the maintenance of a plugin in regards to security and compatibility after a WordPress update is very important. Having everything in the hand of one support team makes it easier for the user than depending on several different developers.

It’s not that I can’t afford to buy the premium version of comment luv, just that I don’t see the point in using it when…
1) I don’t need all the comment luv features
2) As you’ve pointed out in your post, you can get most of them for free…
But there is just one plugin I’ve wanted for a long time that comes the comment luv premium and it’s no longer available for free – the ReplyMe plugin.
You can find it with a quick Google search but it’s not been updated for a few years now and comes with vulnerability issues.
Maybe I’ll go premium in the future just for that specific plugin, but right now it’s not a must have in my opinion.

Coincidentally I answered right now on Enstine’s comment on my blog about the CommentLuv plugin and its functionality, as I come here to see your post about how to use the CommentLuv Premium plugin for free.
As Adrienne mentioned in her comment above, the premium version of the CommentLuv plugin offers more features than what can be replicated with installing additional free plugins.
But I also see your point that not everybody wants or can spend money on the premium version and for them the above mentioned free plugins are a great alternative expand the functionality for free.
For this I would like to mention also the Comment Redirect by Yoast plugin.
As far as I know, the premium CommentLuv plugin offers a redirect for first time commentors, and this is exactly what the free WordPress plugin Comment Redirect by Yoast does as well.
